a letter to my roommate

Dear Roommate,

The other day while you and I were standing in the kitchen, you told me how much you miss living as busy a life as I do. I'm flattered that you are marginally jealous of my poor eating and sleeping habits, as well as my tendency to stretch myself too thin, but I kind of wanted to punch you in the face when you said that. Yes, my life is hectic, and that's the way I like it, so I choose to create opportunities to keep myself occupied. If you miss living that way, then do something about it. Don't spend 10+ hours a day in front of your computer watching TV or playing video games.

Also, I'm a little confused by your method when it comes to your art. You write comic books, which is very cool and something I would consider to be relatively challenging, but I have never walked past your room and seen you at your drafting table save maybe once or twice. We've been living together for what, 4 months now? Call me crazy, but when you have a project, doesn't it make more sense to actually work on it instead of going to read at coffee shops till all hours of the morning?

If you want to waste your time, it's no skin off my nose - I just don't want to hear about it.

Excuse me while I go have a life.

-Carrie
